Sam Nestor is running for State Senate to bring her hands-on local leadership experience to Hartford and ensure that state policies work for the communities they affect. After nearly nine years in public service, including serving as First Selectwoman of Weston and on Weston Board of Eduction, she has seen firsthand how decisions made at the state level shape the ability of towns to address real challenges like rising healthcare and energy costs, infrastructure needs, and gaps in social safety nets such as SNAP benefits. Nestor believes that while local leaders often manage the immediate impact of these issues, meaningful solutions require action in the legislature. By combining her experience setting policy and running a town’s day-to-day operations, she hopes to advocate for practical, fiscally responsible policies that support municipalities and improve residents’ lives across the district.
